The details for the OnePlus Nord 2 have been leaked online ahead of its official launch. The new OnePlus phone is expected to be the successor of the original OnePlus Nord, which was released in India last year, and would have a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. This is in contrast to the previous year's model, which had the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. The OnePlus Nord 2 is expected to keep the same 90Hz refresh rate as its predecessor. The OnePlus Nord 2's specifications were revealed just hours before the official announcement of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, which is supposed to be an upgrade to the OnePlus Nord.
Tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, who goes under the Twitter handle @OnLeaks, has teamed up with 91mobiles to reveal the OnePlus Nord 2's alleged specifications. The smartphone is expected to cost around CNY 2,000 when it is released (roughly Rs. 22,900).
Specifications for the OnePlus Nord 2 (expected)
According to a claim by 91mobiles, the OnePlus Nord 2 would have a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The alleged display is slightly smaller than the original OnePlus Nord's 6.44-inch screen. The new smartphone is also claimed to be equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. This backs up an earlier report. According to reports, the chip will be available in two different configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.
The OnePlus Nord 2 is said to contain a triple back camera arrangement with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The OnePlus Nord, on the other hand, has quad rear cameras with a 48-megapixel main sensor. The new model's camera configuration, on the other hand, is expected to produce improved results, as it will use the same Sony IMX766 sensor as the OnePlus 9 Pro.
The front of the OnePlus Nord 2 is reported to include a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor, which might be the same as the selfie camera on the OnePlus Nord phone from last year. On the battery aspect, the OnePlus Nord 2 is reported to sport a larger 4,500mAh battery than the previous model's 4,115mAh. An in-display fingerprint sensor is also believed to be included in the latest model.
The exact date of the OnePlus Nord 2's release has yet to be announced. However, rumours have it that the smartphone will be released in the second quarter, possibly in July. It is expected to be accessible in India soon, as it has been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). In addition, OnePlus just revealed the name of the OnePlus Nord 2 in a FAQ section of one of its web promotions.
